A NEMA 14-30 is the outlet behind your clothes dryer, and on a great many houses it is on the wall shared with the garage. At 24 amps this charger is slower than a 40A unit but still adds roughly six to seven times what a household outlet manages overnight — and it requires no permit, no electrician, and no panel work. For anyone charging a normal daily commute, it is often all that is needed.
